Rules for switching automatic transmission:

1. Before starting the engine:

* Make sure the shift lever is in Park (P) or Neutral (N).

2. Starting the engine:

*Press the brake pedal.
* Start the engine.

3. Gear shift:

* Press the brake pedal and move the gear lever to the desired position:
* P (Parking) – for parking a car
* R (Reverse) – for reversing
* N (Neutral) – for idle speed
* D (Drive) – to move forward (the car will start moving)
* S (Sport) – for sport mode with faster gear changes and better response
* L (Low gear) – for driving uphill, towing or off-road

4. Switching between “Drive” and “Neutral” modes:

* At speed: Press the brake pedal to stop the vehicle or slow down, then move the gearshift lever to Neutral.
* When parked: press the brake pedal, move the gear shift lever to the “Neutral” position, release the brake pedal, press the brake pedal again and move the shift lever to the “Park” position.

5. Manual switching (if provided):

* Switch the box to manual shift mode (+) or (-).
* To shift up, pull the gear lever backward (+).
* To shift downwards, press the shift lever forward (-).

6. Switch to parking mode (P):

* Stop the car.
*Press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear shift lever to the “Park” position.
* Pull the release handle on the lever to remove the key from the ignition.

Notes:

* Do not switch to Park (P) mode while the vehicle is moving.
* Do not move the gearshift lever to Drive (D) or Reverse (R) without pressing the brake pedal.
* When stopping for a long time, it is recommended to move the gear lever to the Park (P) position, even if the vehicle is on a slope.
*Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations in the owner’s manual.
