Gear selector positions for automatic transmission:

P (Parking)
* Blocks the transmission, preventing the car from moving.
*Used for parking or parking a car.

R (Neutral)
* Unlocks the transmission, allowing the vehicle to move freely.
*Used for towing or moving a vehicle with the engine not running.

N (Idling)
* Unlocks the transmission, but does not transfer power to the wheels.
* Used when stopping at traffic lights, in traffic jams or when towing a vehicle for a short distance.

D (Motion)
* Basic driving position.
* The transmission automatically shifts between gears for smooth acceleration and gear changes.

S (Sports)
*Holds gears to higher engine speeds before shifting.
* Provides faster acceleration and more responsive vehicle handling.

L (Low gear)
*Keeps gears low for extra traction and torque.
* Used when driving on steep slopes, towing or off-road conditions.

2 or 1 (Second or first gear)
* Locks the transmission in second or first gear.
*Used to provide additional engine braking on steep slopes or when driving on slippery roads.

Additional provisions:

M (Manual mode)
* Allows the driver to manually change gears.
* Typically selected using a button or by dragging the gear selector to the M position.

+ and – (Plus and Minus Signs)
*Used to shift gears up or down manually.
