Toyota Vista automatic transmission selector illumination

Required materials:

* LED module (T10) 2 pcs.
* Soldering iron
* Solder
* Electrical tape
* Phillips head screwdriver

Steps:

1. Remove the decorative panel of the automatic transmission selector.
* Carefully pry up the panel with a screwdriver and remove it.

2. Remove the automatic transmission selector.
* Move the lever to neutral position.
* Using a screwdriver, remove the two bolts securing the selector lever to the transmission.
* Gently pull the selector upward to disengage it from the cables.

3. Find the selector illumination sockets.
* The backlight sockets are usually located at the top of the selector.

4. Remove the old lamps.
* Gently pull the bulbs to remove them from their sockets.

5. Prepare the LED modules.
* Make sure the LEDs on the modules are facing down.

6. Solder the LED modules to the lamp wires.
* Solder one wire from the module to the positive contact on the lamp, and the other to the negative one.
* Insulate connections with electrical tape.

7. Install the LED modules into the backlight sockets.
* Insert the modules in place of the old lamps.

8. Install the automatic transmission selector.
* First connect the cables to the selector.
* Push the selector into place and tighten the bolts.

9. Install the decorative selector panel.
* Align the panel with the selector and click it into place.

Adviсe:

* When choosing LED modules, give preference to models with a wide light dispersion angle (120 degrees or more).
*If you are unsure of your soldering skills, seek professional help.
* Make sure the wiring is properly insulated to avoid short circuits.
