Features of automatic transmission operation
1. Warm up before the trip:
* Before driving, warm up the engine and automatic transmission, especially in cold weather.
* Move slowly for the first few minutes until the oil warms up.
2. Gear shift rules:
* When driving, use the brake pedal to downshift.
* Avoid sudden shifts and excessive gear shifting.
* Do not shift into neutral when coasting.
3. Towing:
* Most automatic transmissions are not designed for towing heavy loads.
*If towing is necessary, consult your owner’s manual or vehicle manufacturer.
* Use the correct gear ratio for towing.
4. Automatic transmission fluid:
* Regularly check the level and condition of the automatic transmission fluid.
* Change the automatic transmission fluid and filter in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
*Using the wrong fluid may damage the automatic transmission.
5. Maintenance:
* Carry out regular automatic transmission maintenance, including checking:
* Housing tightness
* Condition of cables and drives
* Sensors and solenoids
6. General recommendations:
* Avoid prolonged wheel slip.
* Do not drive at high speed off-road.
* If you experience unusual vibrations or noises, contact a mechanic immediately.
* Do not use the automatic transmission as a parking brake.
* Park the car on a level surface and switch to parking mode (P).
7. Emergency towing:
*If towing is unavoidable, tow the vehicle with the front wheels on a platform.
* Tow the vehicle at low speed (no more than 50 km/h) and for a short distance (no more than 50 km).
