* Troubleshoot fuses, relays and switches
* Solder and weld wires and components
Service:
* Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems including cleaning, lubrication and testing
* Replace worn or failed components
Installation:
* Install additional electrical equipment such as alarm systems, stereo systems and lighting
* Ensure that equipment is installed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations
Documentation:
* Maintain records of work performed, including diagnostics, repairs and maintenance
* Compile reports on the condition of the vehicle’s electrical systems
Section 6: Additional Information
* Electrical mechanics need ongoing training to keep up to date with new technologies and repair methods
*Extra care and precision must be taken when working on vehicle electrical systems
