Purpose:

The brake band tension bolt in an automatic transmission (AT) is used to adjust the brake band tension. Brake band tension is necessary to ensure smooth gear shifting and effective holding braking.

Design:

The brake band tension bolt is usually a long bolt with a hex head. It has a thread at the end that is screwed into the automatic transmission housing. There is a groove in the middle of the bolt through which a spring or spacer runs to provide the required tension on the brake band.

Working principle:

When the tension bolt is turned, it moves into the automatic transmission housing, increasing or decreasing the tension of the brake band. When the bolt is tightened, it tightens the brake band, and when it is unscrewed, the tension in the band decreases.

Adjustment:

Adjustment of the brake band tension bolt is usually carried out in accordance with the specifications of the automatic transmission manufacturer. The adjustment consists of turning the bolt a certain number of turns or until the desired brake band tension is achieved.

Peculiarities:

* To ensure precise adjustment, tension bolts are usually marked or graduated.
* Tension bolts are made of durable materials to withstand the stress and vibrations that occur during automatic transmission operation.
* Access to tension bolts may be limited and special tools may be required to adjust them.
