Materials required to remove the Opel Vectra C gear shift knob:

* 10 mm socket wrench
* Flathead screwdriver or plastic upholstery puller
* New shift knob (optional)

Instructions for removing the gear shift knob:

1. Place the vehicle in park position (P).

2. Remove the handle. Loosen the 10mm bolt under the rubber pad on the top of the handle. Then pull the handle up and remove it.

3. Remove the gear shift lever cover. Using a flat-head screwdriver or plastic upholstery puller, carefully pry the ring holding the boot in place around the base of the shift lever. Lift the cover upwards.

4. Disconnect the electrical wiring connector. If the handle has a release button, carefully disconnect the wiring connector.

5. Remove the standing ring. Locate the stand ring at the base of the shift lever that secures the knob to the shifter shaft. Use pliers or a circlip puller to slide the circlip off the shaft.

6. Remove the handle. Gently pull the handle up to remove it from the derailleur shaft.

Installing a new gear shift knob:

1. Reverse steps 1 to 5 to install the new shift knob.

2. Make sure the stand ring is securely attached to the derailleur shaft before installing the boot.

3. Tighten the 10mm bolt under the rubber pad on the top of the handle to secure it.

Adviсe:

* Be careful when handling electrical wiring to avoid damaging it.
*If you have difficulty removing the circlip, use pliers or a circlip puller.
*Installing a new shift knob is a simple procedure, but it is recommended that you take it to a qualified mechanic if you encounter any problems.
