Materials required for changing automatic transmission oil in Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2019:

* New automatic transmission oil (type and volume see owner’s manual)
* New automatic transmission filter
* Automatic transmission oil pan with gasket
* New automatic transmission sump plug
* Funnel
* Keys and ratchet
* Rags
* Container for draining old oil (volume of at least 6 liters)

Procedure for changing automatic transmission oil:

1. Safety first. Place the vehicle on a level surface, apply the parking brake, and allow the engine to cool.
2. Raise the car. Raise the rear of the car using jacks or a lift. Install safety supports.
3. Identify the automatic transmission pan. The automatic transmission pan is located at the bottom of the gearbox.
4. Drain the old oil. Unscrew the drain plug of the automatic transmission pan. Be prepared to drain the old oil into a prepared container.
5. Remove the oil pan. Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission oil pan and carefully remove the pan.
6. Replace the automatic transmission filter. Remove the old automatic transmission filter and replace it with a new one.
7. Check the automatic transmission pan. Clean the automatic transmission pan from any remaining old oil and gasket. Check the pallet for damage or deformation. If necessary, replace the automatic transmission pan with a new one.
8. Install a new oil pan. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the new transmission pan gasket and install it in place. Install the oil pan and tighten the mounting bolts.
9. Fill in new automatic transmission oil. Pour new automatic transmission oil into the sump through a funnel. Fill with oil according to the volume specified in the instruction manual.
10. Check the automatic transmission oil level. Start the engine and let it idle. Shift the gear selector through all positions and return it to Park (P). Check the automatic transmission oil level using the dipstick. Add oil if necessary.
11. Reset automatic transmission adaptation. If your car is equipped with an automatic transmission adaptation function, you need to reset it to zero after changing the oil. Refer to your instruction manual for specific instructions.
12. Lower the vehicle. Lower the vehicle and remove the safety supports.

*Using the wrong type of automatic transmission oil can cause serious damage. Check your owner’s manual to find out the recommended type of automatic transmission oil for your vehicle.
* Correctly checking the automatic transmission oil level is critical to the proper operation of the automatic transmission. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to accurately check the oil level.
