* New automatic transmission oil
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* Keys or sockets for 10, 12, 17 mm
* 5 mm hex key
* Funnel
* Measuring container
* Automatic transmission oil filter puller (if necessary)
The procedure for changing the oil in a Kia Ceed automatic transmission
1. Place the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Raise the car on a lift or jack.
3. Remove the lower engine protection.
4. Find the automatic transmission pan and unscrew the drain plug with a 17 mm wrench.
5. Drain the old oil into the prepared container.
6. Replace the automatic transmission pan gasket.
7. Tighten the drain plug to 35 Nm.
8. Remove the automatic transmission pan by unscrewing the bolts with a 5 mm hex key.
9. Replace the automatic transmission oil filter (if necessary).
10. Clean the automatic transmission pan and install it in place.
11. Fill the automatic transmission with new oil through the upper hole of the dipstick using a funnel.
12. Start the engine and warm up the automatic transmission to operating temperature.
13. Check the oil level using the dipstick. The level should be between the “Hot” marks.
14. If necessary, add or drain oil.
15. Reinstall the lower engine guard.
16. Reset the automatic transmission oil change counter using a scanner.
Notes:
*Using the wrong oil or filter may damage the automatic transmission.
* Do not overfill oil as this may cause gear shifting problems.
* Dispose of used oil according to local regulations.
