How to change the oil in a Lada Granta automatic transmission
Required tools and materials:
* Fresh ATF oil (Dexron VI about 6 liters)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Automatic transmission filter (if necessary)
* Set of wrenches and sockets
* Container for draining old oil
* Funnel or syringe for pouring new oil
Oil change intervals:
* Every 60,000 km or 5 years of operation (whichever comes first)
Instructions:
1. Draining old oil:
* Stop the engine and let it cool.
* Lift the car on a lift or place it on an overpass.
* Remove the crankcase protection (if installed).
* Find the automatic transmission pan.
* Unscrew the bolt of the pan drain plug and drain the old oil into a prepared container.
* Clean the drain plug and reinstall it.
2. Replacing the automatic transmission filter (if necessary):
* Unscrew the bolts of the automatic transmission pan and remove it.
* Remove the old oil filter.
* Clean the filter seat.
* Install a new oil filter and replace the pan gasket.
* Tighten the pan bolts.
3. Filling with new oil:
* Check the oil level in the automatic transmission using a dipstick.
* If the level is below normal, add oil through the dipstick hole or a special filler plug.
* Fill with fresh ATF through the dipstick hole or filler plug.
* Check the oil level again and add if necessary.
4. Resetting automatic transmission adaptations:
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Switch the automatic transmission selector to all positions, holding each position for a few seconds.
*Press and hold the brake pedal.
* Move the automatic transmission selector to position “D” and hold it in this position for 1 minute.
* Release the brake pedal.
* Switch the automatic transmission selector to position “P” and turn off the engine.
5. Final check:
* Let the car sit for a few minutes.
* Check the automatic transmission oil level again and add if necessary.
* Reinstall the crankcase protection (if removed).
Note: After changing the oil, it is recommended to drive the car several kilometers to check the operation of the automatic transmission. If you notice any malfunctions or oil leaks, contact a service station.
