Changing automatic transmission oil in Ford Mondeo 2018

Required tools and materials:

* New gear oil (type Ford WSS-M2C200-D2)
* New automatic transmission filter (part number: 1780026)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket (part number: 1601814)
* Phillips screwdriver
* 10 mm wrench
*Torx key T25
* Oil pump
* Funnel
* Gloves
* Clean rags

Instructions:

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
2. Wear gloves.
3. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench.
4. Locate the automatic transmission pan under the car.
5. Place the oil pump into the automatic transmission dipstick and pump out all the oil that leaks out.
6. Place a collection pan under the automatic transmission to collect any remaining oil.
7. Unscrew the bolts around the automatic transmission pan using a 10 mm wrench.
8. Carefully remove the pan and remove the old automatic transmission filter.
9. Install a new automatic transmission filter.
10. Apply a thin layer of RTV sealant to the new transmission pan gasket.
11. Place the automatic transmission pan back into place and secure it with bolts.
12. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.
13. Add new transmission oil through the automatic transmission dipstick using a funnel.
14. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
15. Check the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick.
16. Add oil if necessary.
17. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

Notes:

* A complete automatic transmission oil change is not required as often as a partial change. It is recommended to carry out a complete oil change every 100,000-150,000 km or as indicated in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
* Use only gear oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* Dispose of used oil and filter according to local regulations.
