Tools and materials:
* Metric wrench set
* Set of socket heads
* Flat head screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver
* Pliers
* Mounting blade
* Rags
* New automatic transmission drive shaft oil seal (part number: 43162-22001)
* Automatic transmission fluid (type recommended by the vehicle manufacturer)
Steps:
1. Place the car in park and block the wheels.
2. Raise the front of the vehicle and install safety supports.
3. Remove the wheel from the corresponding side of the drive shaft.
4. Remove the brake caliper and hang it from the car frame without disconnecting the brake hose.
5. Remove the brake disc.
6. Unscrew the wheel hub nut and remove the hub along with the bearing.
7. Unscrew the ball joint mounting bolts and remove the ball joint from the steering knuckle.
8. Loosen the stabilizer link mounting bolts and remove the stabilizer link from the stabilizer bar and the steering knuckle.
9. Pry up the inner boot of the constant velocity joint (CV joint) with a mounting blade and remove it from the axle shaft.
10. Carefully knock the drive shaft out of the gearbox.
11. Remove the old oil seal from the drive shaft.
Installing a new oil seal:
1. Apply a small amount of sealant to the new oil seal.
2. Install the new oil seal onto the drive shaft using fingers or a suitable tool.
3. Lubricate the inner edge of the inner CV boot with transmission fluid.
4. Install the inner CV joint boot on the drive shaft.
5. Insert the drive shaft into the gearbox.
6. Tighten the stabilizer link bolts.
7. Install the ball joint on the steering knuckle and tighten the mounting bolts.
8. Install the brake disc.
9. Reinstall the brake caliper.
10. Install the wheel.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Add transmission fluid to the automatic transmission to the required level.
Checking work:
1. Start the car engine and let it idle for a while.
2. Switch the automatic transmission control lever to different modes and drive the car a short distance.
3. Check for transmission fluid leaks from under the automatic transmission drive shaft oil seal.
