Materials:

* Manual transmission
* Wrenches or screwdrivers
* Pliers
* Flat head screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver
* Solvent or alcohol
* Lubrication

Instructions:

1. Remove the gearbox:

* Raise the car and place it on supports.
* Disconnect the battery.
* Drain the transmission oil.
* Disconnect the drive shafts connecting the gearbox to the wheels.
* Disconnect the clutch cable.
* Disconnect electrical connectors and vacuum hoses.
* Remove the bolts and nuts securing the transmission to the engine and body.
* Remove the gearbox.

2. Extend the gearbox:

* Place the gearbox on the workbench.
* Remove the bolts and nuts securing the transmission cover.
*Remove the cover and be careful not to drop the gears.
* Pull the output gears to disconnect them from the input shaft.

3. Remove the intermediate shaft:

* Pull the intermediate shaft out of the gearbox.
* Remove the needle bearings from the shaft.

4. Remove the intermediate shaft gears:

* Remove the circlips from the intermediate shaft gears.
* Remove the gear shift forks.
* Remove the intermediate shaft gears.

5. Remove the input shaft:

* Remove the ring and bolt securing the input shaft.
* Remove the input shaft gears.
* Remove the input shaft.

6. Remove the differential:

* Remove the bolts securing the differential to the transmission housing.
* Pull out the differential and remove the seals.

7. Remove the differential gears:

* Remove the bolt securing the differential gears.
* Remove the differential gears.

8. Clean and inspect parts:

* Clean all parts with solvent or alcohol.
* Inspect parts for wear, damage or leaks.
* Replace any damaged parts.

9. Assemble the gearbox:

* Install a new gasket and reassemble the differential by tightening the bolts to specifications.
* Install the differential into the transmission housing and secure it with bolts.
* Install the differential gears.
* Install the input shaft and tighten the bolt and ring.
* Install the input shaft gears.
* Install the intermediate shaft and needle bearings.
* Install the intermediate shaft gears and secure them with retaining rings.
* Install the gear shift forks.
* Connect the output gears to the input shaft.
* Install the gearbox cover and tighten the bolts and nuts.

10. Install the gearbox:

* Lift the gearbox into place.
* Tighten the bolts and nuts securing the transmission to the engine and body.
* Connect electrical connectors and vacuum hoses.
* Connect the clutch cable.
* Connect the drive shafts to the gearbox.
* Fill in transmission oil.
* Connect the battery.

11. Adjust the clutch and gear shift.
