Required materials:

* New backlight lamp (usually a T10 lamp)
* Small flathead screwdriver

Replacement steps:

1. Disconnect the battery. This is necessary for your safety. Remove the key from the ignition and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the gearshift panel. Typically the panel is secured with latches or screws. Find the locking points and carefully pry the panel with a screwdriver to release it.

3. Disconnect the backlight connector. The connector is usually located next to the lamp. Gently pull on the connector to disconnect it.

4. Remove the old lamp. The old lamp is usually secured with a rubber holder or metal clip. Gently pull the holder or latch to remove the lamp.

5. Install a new lamp. Insert the new lamp into the holder or snap it into place.

6. Connect the lamp connector. Make sure the connector fits snugly on the new lamp.

7. Reinstall the shift panel. Align the panel with the guides and press down to secure it.

8. Connect the battery. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

9. Check the backlight operation. Turn on the headlights and check that the transmission lights are working properly.

Adviсe:

* Use gloves to avoid contact with the hot lamp.
*If you are unable to remove the lamp using the holder or latch, use a thin screwdriver or tweezers to gently pry it off.
* Do not use excessive force when replacing the lamp as this may damage the socket.
* If the new lamp does not work, make sure it is installed correctly and that the contact surface is clean.
