Required materials:

* New torque converter oil seal
* Transmission fluid
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Automatic transmission filter
* Sealant for automatic transmission

Tools:

* Wrench set
* Torque wrench
* Flat head screwdriver
*Transmission funnel
* Container for collecting transmission fluid

Procedure:

1. Raise the car on a lift or place it on jacks.
2. Drain the transmission fluid from the automatic transmission by unscrewing the drain plug in the pan.
3. Remove the automatic transmission pan by unscrewing the fastening bolts. Carefully pry up the tray and remove it.
4. Remove the old automatic transmission filter and install a new one.
5. Remove the torque converter. To do this:
* Unscrew the bolts securing the torque converter to the engine flywheel.
* Using a gentle rocking motion, pull the torque converter toward you to disengage it from the flywheel.
6. Remove the old torque converter seal using a flat head screwdriver.
7. Clean the oil seal seat from dirt and oil deposits.
8. Apply a thin layer of automatic transmission sealant to the oil seal seat.
9. Install a new torque converter oil seal. Make sure the oil seal is installed in the correct direction.
10. Reinstall the torque converter. Tighten the torque converter mounting bolts with a torque wrench to the manufacturer’s specifications.
11. Install the automatic transmission pan with a new gasket. Tighten the pan mounting bolts with a torque wrench according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
12. Fill in new transmission fluid through the dipstick hole.
13. Check the transmission fluid level with a dipstick after starting the engine. Adjust the fluid level if necessary.
