Checking the automatic transmission oil level in a Toyota Prado 150 with a diesel engine

Required materials:

* Clean rag
*Gloves (optional)

Verification steps:

1. Warm up the engine: Warm up the engine to operating temperature by driving for at least 10 minutes.
2. Place the vehicle on a level surface: Park the vehicle on a level surface.
3. Move the shift lever to the “Neutral” position: Move the shift lever to the “N” (neutral) position.
4. Turn off the engine: Turn off the engine and leave it to cool for a while.
5. Find the automatic transmission dipstick: The automatic transmission dipstick is located under the hood, usually next to the engine. It has a yellow or red handle and is marked “ATF” (transmission fluid).
6. Remove and wipe the dipstick: Pull out the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.
7. Insert the dipstick back: Insert the dipstick back into the tube until it stops.
8. Remove and check oil level: Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level. It should be between the “HOT” and “COLD” marks on the dipstick.

Note:

* If there is not enough oil, it must be added through the dipstick hole. Use only manufacturer-recommended ATF.
* If the oil is overfilled, it must be drained from the automatic transmission drain plug.
* Check the automatic transmission oil level regularly, especially before long trips.

Warning:

* Transmission oil may be hot, so use gloves and be careful when checking the level.
* Do not overfill automatic transmission oil, as this may lead to problems with the transmission.
