Transmission modes of Chevrolet Lacetti with automatic transmission:

*P (Park): Locks the transmission to prevent the vehicle from moving. Used when parking.
* R (Reverse): Engages reverse gear.
* N (Neutral): Disconnects the transmission from the engine. Used when towing or to start the engine.
* D (Drive): Normal driving mode for most driving conditions.
*3 (Third Gear): Only third and lower gears are used to improve engine braking or when driving on inclines.
*2 (Second Gear): Only second and lower gears are used for maximum engine braking or when driving in severe off-road conditions.
* L (First gear): Only first gear is used for extreme off-road conditions or when driving at low speeds.
* O/D (Overdrive): Turns overdrive (highest gear) on or off. Disabling improves acceleration but increases fuel consumption.
* +/- (Manual Mode): Allows you to manually select gears by pressing the “+” or “-” buttons on the gear selector.
