Method 1: Using a diagnostic scanner

1. Purchase or rent a diagnostic scan tool that is compatible with your car model.

4. Follow the instructions on the scanner screen to complete the reset process.

Warning: Before performing a manual reset, consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual or a qualified mechanic. Improper reset may damage the transmission.

1. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
2. Shift the gear selector to Park (P).
3. Turn off the engine.
4. Turn the ignition key to the “On” position (without starting the engine).
5. Press and hold the brake pedal for 30 seconds.
6. Release the brake pedal.
7. Turn the ignition key to the “Off” position.
8. Shift the gear selector to the Neutral (N) position.
