Installation of an additional automatic transmission cooling radiator
Materials:
* Additional automatic transmission cooling radiator
* Hose clamps
* Towbar or other type of radiator mounting
* Transmission fluid
Tools:
* Wrench or ratchet
* Pliers
* Bucket or container for transmission fluid
* Watering can or funnel
Procedure:
1. Draining transmission fluid:
– Find the drain plug on the automatic transmission oil pan and drain the fluid into a container.
2. Disconnecting automatic transmission hoses:
– Find and disconnect the hoses coming from the automatic transmission to the main radiator.
– Plug holes in hoses and automatic transmission to prevent fluid leakage.
3. Installation of an additional radiator:
– Install the auxiliary radiator on a towbar or other location where it will not interfere with other components.
– Secure the radiator using clamps.
4. Connecting automatic transmission hoses:
– Connect one end of the hoses coming from the automatic transmission to one of the auxiliary radiator pipes.
– Then connect the other end of the hoses to the other connection of the additional radiator.
– Secure the hoses with clamps.
5. Filling transmission fluid:
– Remove the transmission fluid dipstick.
– Pour fresh transmission fluid into the automatic transmission filler neck using a watering can or funnel.
– Reinstall the dipstick and check the fluid level.
6. Check for leaks:
– Start the engine and let it idle.
– Check for leaks around hoses and radiators.
Additional tips:
* Use an additional radiator designed for the automatic transmission of your car.
* Make sure hoses and clamps are securely fastened.
* Check the transmission fluid level regularly and top up if necessary.
