Auto electrician
Job description:
An auto electrician specializes in diagnosing, servicing and repairing electrical systems in vehicles, including cars, trucks and commercial vehicles.
Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems such as wiring, batteries, alternators, starters and lighting
* Installation and repair of electronic components such as on-board computers, engine control modules and communication systems
* Troubleshooting starting and charging system issues
* Maintenance and repair of vehicle electrical systems such as heating, air conditioning and audio systems
* Work with electrical diagrams and technical manuals
* Providing advice and recommendations to clients on vehicle electrical systems issues
Skills and knowledge:
* Knowledge of operating principles of vehicle electrical systems
* Understanding of electronics and electrical engineering principles
* Diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams
* Understanding of the operating principles of internal combustion engines
* Knowledge of electrical safety requirements
* Interpersonal communication and customer service skills
Education and training:
* With secondary education in automotive or electrical engineering
*Vocational training or certification programs
