To flush the automatic transmission when changing the oil, you can use the following means:
* Special flushing fluids for automatic transmissions. These fluids are sold in auto shops and are designed specifically to remove contaminants from the transmission. They contain solvents and detergent additives that help soften and separate deposits.
* Dextron III or IV. These fluids are used as a base for automatic transmission oil and also have cleaning properties. They can be used to flush the transmission, but their effectiveness is lower than that of special flushing fluids.
* Kerosene or gasoline. In extreme cases, you can use kerosene or gasoline to flush the gearbox. However, these fluids can damage the seals and rubber components of the automatic transmission, so their use should be avoided.
Washing procedure:
1. Drain the old oil from the automatic transmission.
2. Fill the transmission with flushing fluid according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Start the engine and let the transmission idle for 10-15 minutes.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 several times until the flush fluid comes out clean.
5. Drain the automatic transmission flushing fluid and install a new oil filter.
6. Fill the automatic transmission with new oil.
