Connecting the washing machine to the mains

Required materials and tools:

* Washing machine
* Special electrical cable for washing machines
* Socket with grounding
* Screwdriver
* Pliers

Security measures:

* Before starting work, turn off the power at the electrical panel.
* Ensure that electrical wiring is in good condition and within recommended specifications.
* Use only the type of electrical cord specified in the washing machine instructions.

Connection instructions:

1. Prepare the electrical cable. Measure the required cable length from the outlet to the washing machine with a margin of 1-1.5 m. Remove the outer insulation of the cable by 5-7 cm.

2. Connect the wire to the outlet. Connect the wires to the outlet terminals according to the diagram indicated on the outlet. Typically, the brown wire is connected to the phase (L), the blue wire to the neutral (N), and the yellow-green wire to the ground (PE).

3. Connect the wire to the washing machine. On the back of the washing machine, locate the terminal box and remove the cover from it. Connect the wires to the terminals according to the diagram specified in the instructions for the machine. Typically, the brown wire is connected to the L terminal, the blue wire to the N terminal, and the yellow/green wire to the ground terminal.

4. Tighten the screws on the terminals. Using a screwdriver, tighten the screws on the terminals to ensure a secure connection.

5. Reinstall the terminal box cover. Snap the cover onto the terminal box to cover the wires.

6. Install the outlet. Attach the outlet to the wall and connect it to the electrical outlet. Make sure the outlet is grounded.

7. Turn on the power. Turn on the power at the electrical panel.

Checking connection:

* Connect the washing machine to a power outlet.
* Turn on the washing machine and check if it is working properly.
* Check for arcing or excessive heat in the area of ​​outlets and connections.

Adviсe:

* If you do not have a special electrical cable for washing machines, you can use a regular copper cable with a cross-section of at least 2.5 mm?.
* Do not use extension cords to connect the washing machine.
* Check the condition of electrical wiring and connections regularly to prevent problems.
*If any connection problems occur, contact a qualified electrician.
