Responsibilities of a truck electrician:
* Diagnosis and repair of electrical systems of trucks and heavy equipment, including
* Starting, charging and lighting systems
* Electrical wiring and distribution boards
* Computer systems and sensors
* Equipment for body and trailer
* Installation and maintenance of electrical equipment such as
* GPS systems and on-board computers
* Rear view cameras and other security systems
* Electric winches and hydraulic pumps
* Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using diagnostic equipment and manuals
* Collaborate with mechanics and other technical specialists to solve complex problems
*Maintain documentation including repair reports and maintenance records
* Compliance with safety regulations and industry standards when performing work
Requirements for a truck electrician:
*Certificate or Diploma of Truck Electrician or relevant qualification
* Knowledge of electrical circuits, operating principles and troubleshooting practices for trucks and heavy equipment
* Experience with diagnostic equipment and manual tools
* Understanding of safety regulations and regulatory requirements
*Excellent troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of industry software and systems
*Optional: experience with electric trailer systems
