Steps to unlock Lada Granta automatic transmission:
1. Make sure there is no power to the transmission.
* Open the hood and disconnect the “-” terminal of the battery.
2. Find the automatic transmission diagnostic connector.
* It is usually located under the hood near the engine. The connector is usually black or gray and has 16 pins.
3. Connect the OBDII scanner to the diagnostic connector.
* Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
4. Run diagnostic software on the scanner.
*If you do not have a diagnostic scanner, contact a mechanic or an official Lada dealer for help.
5. Locate the transmission section of the software.
* This may be called “Transmission” or “Automatic”.
6. Select the “Unlock automatic transmission” action.
*The software will confirm that you want to unlock the transmission.
7. Follow the onscreen instructions.
* The software will guide you through the unlocking process.
8. Disconnect the scanner and reconnect the battery.
* Start the engine and check if the gears shift correctly.
Note:
*If you are unable to unlock the transmission using the diagnostic scanner, you may need to replace the transmission electronic control unit (ECU).
* It is always recommended that you have your automatic transmission unlocked by a qualified mechanic, especially if you do not have the technical knowledge or experience.
