Steps to unlock the automatic transmission:
1. Make sure it’s safe.
* Park the car on a level surface.
* Apply the parking brake.
* Remove the key from the ignition.
2. Find the automatic transmission release lever.
* It is usually located on the center console or near the gearshift lever.
* It may be indicated by a key symbol or a button labeled “Unlock”.
3. Insert the key]
*Some vehicles require the key to be inserted into the ignition.
* Turn the key to the “ACC” or “ON” position.
4. Press the release lever.
*Press the lever or press the unlock button.
*You may have to press or hold it for a few seconds.
