Automatic transmission solenoid valve N88

Purpose:

* Controls the flow of transmission fluid in an automatic transmission (AT).
* Regulates the pressure and direction of fluid flow in the torque converter and clutch packs.

Working principle:

* When electric current is applied to the valve, the coil inside the valve creates a magnetic field.
* This magnetic field opens or closes the valve, allowing or blocking the flow of liquid.
* The opening or closing of the valve is controlled by the electronic control unit (ECU) of the automatic transmission.

Types:

* Torque converter pressure valve
* Pressure relief valve
* Shift control valve

Location:

The N88 automatic transmission solenoid valve is usually located in the automatic transmission housing or on the valve body.

Errors and symptoms of malfunction:

* N88 valve related fault codes
* Slipping or delay when shifting gears
* Transmission fluid leaks
* Automatic transmission overheating

Causes of malfunction:

* Worn or dirty valve
* Coil failure
* Electrical problems (such as faulty wiring)

Replacement:

*Special equipment and technical knowledge are required to replace the N88 automatic transmission solenoid valve.
* It is recommended that you have the valve serviced or replaced by a qualified automatic transmission mechanic.

Maintenance:

*Change your transmission fluid and filter regularly to prevent debris and contaminants from accumulating.
* Use transmission fluid recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for automatic transmission maintenance intervals.
