SsangYong Actyon automatic transmission controls
Gear Shifter:
*Located on the center console.
* To change gears, press the button on the top of the lever.
Automatic transmission operating modes:
* P (Parking): Locks the transmission, used when parking the vehicle.
* R (Reverse): Engages reverse gear.
* N (Neutral): Disengages the transmission, allowing the engine to idle.
* D (Drive): Basic driving mode for automatic gear shifting.
*4: Includes low gears, suitable for steep inclines or off-road use.
*2: Holds gear in second, suitable for steep grades or off-road use.
*1: Keeps the gear in first, suitable for steep inclines or off-road use.
Additional features:
* Kick-down: Press the accelerator pedal all the way down to downshift for acceleration.
*Manual Mode: Move the gear lever left or right to change gears manually.
* Selecting Sport Mode: Press the Sport button on the center console to switch the automatic transmission to Sport mode for more responsive handling.
* Torque Converter Lock: Press the “Power” button on the center console to lock the torque converter for more efficient use of engine power.
Tips for operating automatic transmission:
* Shift gears only with the brake pedal depressed.
* Do not hold the vehicle in place using only the brake pedal, as this places additional stress on the automatic transmission.
* Regularly service the automatic transmission according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
* Avoid sudden acceleration and braking.
