The service life of an automatic transmission (AT) largely depends on its maintenance and operating conditions. In general, with proper care and operation, an automatic transmission can last up to 200,000 – 300,000 kilometers.

However, if you drive a car with a faulty automatic transmission (for example, low transmission fluid or slipping), this can significantly reduce its service life.

It is recommended to follow the following recommendations to extend the life of the automatic transmission:

* Check and top up transmission fluid regularly.
* Change transmission fluid and filter according to manufacturer’s directions.
* Avoid sudden acceleration and braking.
* Do not tow heavy loads unless necessary.
* Warm up the automatic transmission before driving in cold weather.
* If you notice signs of automatic transmission malfunction (such as slipping, knocking or vibration), seek professional assistance immediately.
