Possible reasons why your car with an automatic transmission stalls, but starts and drives again:

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

* A faulty TPS may send incorrect data to the ECU, resulting in an incorrect air/fuel ratio, causing the engine to stall.

Mass air flow sensor (MAF)

* A faulty mass air flow sensor may not accurately measure the amount of air entering the engine, which can also lead to an incorrect air/fuel mixture and stall the engine.

Crankshaft position sensor (CPS)

* A faulty DPCV may not send a clear signal to the ECU about the crankshaft position, resulting in improper fuel injection and sparking, causing the engine to stall.

Fuel system

* A faulty fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or faulty fuel pressure regulator can cause insufficient fuel pressure in the engine, causing the engine to stall.

Ignition system

* Faulty spark plugs, ignition coils or spark plug wires can cause the engine to misfire and stall.

Electrical system

*A weak or faulty battery, faulty alternator, or poor connections can lead to electrical problems that can cause the engine to stall.

Mechanical problems

*Transmission problems such as a slipping clutch can cause the engine to stall under load.

Solutions

* Diagnose your vehicle using a diagnostic scanner to identify specific error codes.
* Check and replace faulty sensors.
* Check and clean the fuel system.
* Check and replace faulty ignition system components.
* Check the electrical system and correct any wiring or power problems.
*Consult a mechanic to diagnose and repair any mechanical problems.
