Mercedes-Benz automatic transmission wiring diagram
Diagram for the Mercedes-Benz W205 C-Class model with automatic transmission 7G-Tronic Plus (722.9)
Circuit components:
1. Automatic transmission control unit (TCU)
* Controls the operation of the automatic transmission, including gear shifting, torque converter lock-up and valve control.
2. Gear selector
* Signals the TCU about the selected gear selector position.
3. Gear selector position sensor (PRND)
* Converts the position of the mechanical gear selector into electrical signals for the TCU.
4. Automatic transmission input shaft rotation speed sensor
* Measures the rotation speed of the automatic transmission input shaft and transmits data to the TCU.
5. Automatic transmission output shaft speed sensor
* Measures the speed of rotation of the automatic transmission output shaft and transmits data to the TCU.
6. Solenoid valves
* Control fluid pressure in the automatic transmission for gear shifting and other functions.
7. Engine control unit (ECU)
* Interacts with the TCU to coordinate the operation of the engine and automatic transmission.
8. Gearbox Interface Module (GWM)
* Serves as a bridge between the TCU and other vehicle electronic systems such as the engine management system and instrument panel.
Wiring diagram:
The wiring diagram connects these components as follows:
* The TCU is connected to the gear selector, speed sensors, solenoid valves and GWM through wiring harnesses.
* GWM is connected to ECU and other electronic systems.
* Changes in gear selector position or speed sensor readings are transmitted to the TCU via electrical signals.
* The TCU uses this information to control the transmission and sends signals to the solenoid valves to change fluid pressure and shift gears.
* GWM transmits automatic transmission status data to the ECU and other systems to display information on the dashboard and control engine operation.
Please note that this diagram is general and may vary depending on the Mercedes-Benz model and year of manufacture. For specific wiring diagram information, consult your repair manual or Mercedes-Benz dealer.
