Through the hidden service menu

1. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
2. Press the ‘BC’ button (on-board computer control button) on the left side of the steering wheel.
3. Hold the ‘BC’ button until the display shows ‘TEST’.
4. Release the ‘BC’ button.
5. Scroll to the ‘Transm. Temp (Transmission Temperature)’ using the ‘BC’ button.
6. The automatic transmission temperature will be displayed on the display.

Via diagnostic scanner

1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the OBD2 port of the car.
2. Select the transmission module.
3. Select the ‘Automatic Transmission Fluid Temperature’ parameter.
4. The current automatic transmission temperature will be displayed on the scanner.

Note:

* On some BMW models, the automatic transmission temperature may be displayed in the hidden service menu only after reaching a certain temperature (for example, 80 °C).
* For the most accurate readings, it is recommended to use a diagnostic scanner.
