Automatic transmission oil filter device

The automatic transmission oil filter is designed to clean the hydraulic fluid from contaminants. It consists of the following main parts:

1. Filter housing:

* Made of metal or plastic.
* Provides hermetically sealed placement of the filter element.
*Contains threads or latch for installation in automatic transmission.

2. Filter element:

*Made of filter paper or synthetic material.
* Removes contaminants such as metal particles, chips and combustion products.

3. Drain valve (optional):

* Installed on the bottom of the filter housing.
* Drains the remaining oil when replacing the filter.

4. Bypass valve (optional):

* Opens when the filter element is clogged.
* Ensures oil flow into the automatic transmission, preventing starvation.

5. O-rings:

* Installed between the filter housing, filter element and automatic transmission.
* Ensure tightness of connections.

Working principle:

The hydraulic fluid passes through a filter element where contaminants are captured. The purified oil then leaves the filter and is sent to the automatic transmission system.

Types of automatic transmission oil filters:

There are two main types of automatic transmission oil filters:

* Internal filters: Located inside the oil pan and require pan removal for replacement.
* External filters: Installed outside the automatic transmission and are easily accessible for maintenance.
