Fixing leaking automatic transmission cooling pipes in a Chevrolet Cruze

Materials:

* New automatic transmission cooling pipes
* Transmission fluid
* Transmission sealant
* Flat head screwdriver
* Spanner or wrench
* Rags
* Container for draining liquid

Instructions:

1. Set the vehicle to the parking brake and turn off the engine. Let the car cool down.

2. Find the automatic transmission cooling pipes. They are usually located at the bottom of the radiator and are connected to the automatic transmission.

3. Remove the motor protective cover (if equipped). This will improve access to the tubes.

4. Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission cooling pipes. Carefully loosen the bolts using a spanner or wrench.

5. Remove the pipes. Pull the tubes with slight force to disconnect them from the radiator and automatic transmission. Clean the ends of the tubes from any old sealant.

6. Apply sealant to the new tubes. Apply a thin coat of transmission sealant to the ends of the new tubes.

7. Connect new pipes to the radiator and automatic transmission. Insert the new tubes into place and tighten the bolts. Don’t over-tighten.

8. Reinstall the engine protection cover (if equipped).

9. Fill with transmission fluid. Check the fluid level in the automatic transmission and add to the required level.

10. Check for leaks. Start the engine and let the fluid warm up. Check under the car for leaks.

Notes:

* Always replace automatic transmission coolant pipes in pairs.
*Use sealant designed for transmissions.
* Make sure the bolts are tightened enough to prevent leakage, but not too tight to strip the threads.
* After replacing the automatic transmission coolant pipes, it may be necessary to update the transmission software.
