Inspection and maintenance procedure:

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift or place it on a flat surface.
2. Determine the location of the transmission oil pan.
3. Unscrew the bolts and remove the oil pan.
4. Locate the strainer inside the transmission housing.
5. Clean the filter from metal shavings and other contaminants using a clean cloth or solvent.
6. Reinstall the oil pan and tighten the bolts.

Maintenance frequency:

* As recommended by the manufacturer (usually does not require replacement or maintenance for the life of the vehicle).

Note:

*If a significant amount of metal shavings or other contaminants are detected when checking the filter, this may indicate a problem with the transmission. If this occurs, contact a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
