Automatic transmission control circuit

Input signals:

*Accelerator pedal position
* Vehicle speed
* Engine load
*Transmission fluid temperature
* Gear selector position
* Signal from throttle position sensor

Transmission Control Module (TCM):

* Receives and processes input signals
* Determines the optimal gear depending on driving conditions
* Sends commands to transmission solenoids and actuators

Transmission solenoids and actuators:

* Hydraulic or electromechanical devices that:
* Control transmission fluid pressure
* Shift gears
* Fix the torque converter
* Turn gear lock on and off

Torque converter:

* Connects the engine to the gearbox
*Helps smooth gear shifting
* Allows the car to stand still without turning off the engine

Gear lock:

* Mechanism that blocks the torque converter when driving in top gear
* Improves power transmission efficiency and saves fuel

Output signals:

* Output shaft rotation speed
*Transmission ratio
*Transmission fluid temperature
* Fault codes (if any)

Interaction with other vehicle systems:

* The TCM interfaces with the electronic engine control unit (ECU) to coordinate gear shifts and optimize engine performance.
* The TCM can also receive signals from the stability control system to prevent gear changes at inappropriate times.
