Hyundai Solaris automatic transmission cooling diagram

Components:

* Heat exchanger: Located inside the engine radiator and cools the automatic transmission fluid by passing it next to the engine coolant.
* Automatic transmission cooling lines: Connect the heat exchanger to the automatic transmission, providing circulation of automatic transmission coolant.
* Automatic transmission pump: Pressurizes and circulates automatic transmission coolant through the heat exchanger and automatic transmission.
* Thermostat valve: Regulates the flow of automatic transmission coolant through the heat exchanger, ensuring optimal automatic transmission temperature.
* Transmission Temperature Sensor: Monitors transmission temperature and sends a signal to the transmission control module (TCM).
* TCM: Control unit that controls the operation of the automatic transmission, including cooling control.

Job description:

* The automatic transmission pump pumps automatic transmission coolant from the automatic transmission sump.
* Automatic transmission coolant flows through the heat exchanger and is cooled by engine coolant.
* The thermostat valve regulates the flow of automatic transmission coolant through the heat exchanger, keeping the automatic transmission temperature within the optimal range.
* The cooled automatic transmission coolant is returned to the automatic transmission through the automatic transmission cooling lines.
* The TCM monitors transmission temperature using the transmission temperature sensor and adjusts the thermostat valve to maintain a stable transmission temperature.
*If the transmission temperature becomes too high, the TCM may put the transmission into limp mode to prevent damage.
