The procedure for changing the oil in a SsangYong Actyon automatic transmission:
1. Ensure safety: Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
2. Warm up the engine: Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes until the transmission oil warms up.
3. Remove the automatic transmission pan: Find the automatic transmission pan drain plug and place a container under it to drain the oil. Unscrew the plug with a 17 mm wrench or wrench and drain the used oil.
4. Replace the oil pump filter: Unscrew the bolts holding the pan using a 10 mm wrench or wrench. Carefully remove the pan, being careful not to damage the gasket. Replace the oil pump filter with a new one.
5. Clean the pan and install a new gasket: Clean the pan and the engine surface of any old oil and gasket residue. Apply sealant or a new gasket to the pan.
6. Reinstall the pan: Replace the pan and tighten the bolts with a 10mm wrench or wrench. Make sure the gasket is installed correctly and there are no leaks.
7. Fill with new oil: Using a funnel, pour new transmission oil into the automatic transmission. The amount of oil that needs to be filled is indicated in the vehicle’s operating manual.
8. Check the oil level: Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Shift the gear selector to different positions and back to park. Check the oil level using the dipstick (if provided). Add oil if necessary.
9. Reset the service interval counter: If your vehicle is equipped with an automatic oil change reminder system, reset the service interval counter according to the instructions in your owner’s manual.
