Materials:
* Special flushing fluid for automatic transmissions
* New gear oil (according to manufacturer specifications)
* New automatic transmission filter (if necessary)
* Funnel for oil filling
* Tool kit for automatic transmission maintenance
Steps:
1. Warm up the engine and automatic transmission: Start the engine and let it idle for 10-15 minutes to warm up the transmission fluid.
2. Drain the old fluid: Install the automatic transmission pan and unscrew the drain plug. Drain the old transmission fluid into a waste oil container.
3. Fill in the flushing fluid: Using a funnel, pour the flushing fluid into the automatic transmission pan. Drain it in the same way as the old fluid and allow it to circulate through the system. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
4. Install a new automatic transmission filter: Remove the oil pan and replace the old automatic transmission filter with a new one. Seal the pan with a new gasket.
5. Fill with new oil: Fill new transmission oil into the automatic transmission pan using a funnel.
6. Check the fluid level: Start the engine and let it idle. Check the fluid level using the dipstick as indicated in your vehicle’s owner’s manual. Add oil if necessary.
7. Drive the vehicle: Take a short drive of 10-15 minutes to circulate the new oil through the system.
8. Check the fluid level again: After driving, check the fluid level again using the dipstick. Add oil if necessary.
Notes:
*Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for changing transmission fluid.
* Use only flush fluid specifically designed for automatic transmissions.
* Do not overfill transmission fluid.
* It is recommended to flush the transmission every 30,000-50,000 km or as recommended by the manufacturer.
*This procedure can be performed at home using an automatic transmission tool kit, but take it to a qualified mechanic if you are not experienced.
