Materials:
* Gear oil (corresponding to the type recommended by the manufacturer)
* Automatic transmission oil filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Tubular or socket wrench 14 mm
* 10 mm hex key
* Funnel or oil syringe
* Pliers
* Rags
Replacement procedure:
1. Preparation:
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Let the engine idle for 10-15 minutes to allow the oil to warm up and become more fluid.
* Stop the engine.
2. Draining old oil:
* Locate the drain plug on the automatic transmission pan.
* Place a container for used oil under the drain plug.
* Carefully unscrew the drain plug using a 14mm wrench. Let the oil drain.
3. Removing and cleaning the automatic transmission pan:
* After the oil has drained, unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan using a 10 mm hex key.
* Carefully remove the tray. Be prepared for residual oil that may leak out.
* Clean the pan of old gasket and deposits.
4. Filter replacement:
* Find the automatic transmission oil filter, it is usually located in the pan or on the side of the automatic transmission.
* Using pliers, carefully remove the filter.
* Install the new filter in reverse order.
5. Installing the automatic transmission pan:
* Install a new gasket on the automatic transmission pan.
* Replace the pan and tighten the bolts using a 10mm hex key.
6. Filling with new oil:
* Using a funnel or oil gun, pour new transmission oil into the drain hole.
* Fill in as much oil as indicated in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
7. Checking the oil level:
* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Switch the automatic transmission selector to each position and back.
* Check the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick. The level should be between the «Min» and «Max» marks.
*Add oil if necessary.
8. Final check:
* Check the automatic transmission pan for leaks.
* Drive the car and listen to extraneous noises.
* After some time, check the oil level again and add if necessary.
Important:
*Always use the transmission oil recommended by the manufacturer for your vehicle model.
* Replacing the automatic transmission filter is not necessary at every oil change, but it is recommended to do it every 60,000-90,000 km.
*Consult a qualified mechanic if you have any problems changing your transmission oil.
